Today's children are wrapped in cotton wool. If as a child you were living in the 80s or before, it is hard to believe, looking back, that you could survive so long! As children, we were sitting in cars with no seat belts and no airbags. Our cribs were painted with color full of lead and cadmium. The vials from the pharmacy we were able to open easily. Doors and cabinets were a constant threat to our fingers, and on the bikes and mopeds we never wore helmets! We built soapbox and discovered during the first ride down the slope, that we forgot the brakes. We were clear after a few accidents. We left the house in the morning, we were gone all day and only had to be home when the streetlights came on. No one knew where we were, and we had not even doing a CELL PHONE! We cut ourselves, broke bones and teeth, and no one has been sued so! There were just accidents! No one to blame except ourselves No one asked for "supervisory duties". We fought and sometimes beat us black and blue, so we had to live, for it is not particularly interested in the adults. We ate crackers, bread with thick Nutella, drank a lot of cola, or Hooch "the Blue Pig" and were not yet too fat or sick! In public buildings, we were constantly enveloped in clouds of smoke! We drank with our friends from one bottle and no one died as a result! We did not have: PlayStation, Nintendo 64, X-Box, video games, 64 television channels, surround sound, own TV, computer, mobile phone, laptops, Internet chat rooms. WE HAD FRIENDS! We just went out and met them on the street. Or we simply marched to their house or apartment and rang the bell! Sometimes we did not need to ring, and just walked in! Without an appointment and without the knowledge of our mutual parents. We thought of games with sticks and tennis balls. We also ate worms, and the prophecies not arrived, and the worms did not live in our bellies on, and we also stabbed with sticks not very many eyes out! When road was only allowed to play football, who was good. Who was not good, had to learn to cope disappointments! Some students were not as smart as others. They failed a grade and repeated classes. This then led to no emotional parents' evenings or even amending of performance reviews! Our actions have consequences sometimes. That was clear, and no one could hide. If one of us has broken the law, it was clear that the parents do not automatically knock it out of the mess. The contrary, they were often the same opinion as the police! Such a thing! Our generation has produced a wealth of innovative problem solvers and inventors with risk appetite. We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility! With everything we did deal!
